Library foundation donates funds - The-Press-News.com
The Stark County District Library Foundation Board, at its December meeting, voted to donate $6,000 to the Stark County District Library to fund two separate projects. Half of the money will support the library's Young Mom's Club, a literacy project for young mothers in their teens and early 20s, and will pay for books and literacy activities for the group.
The other half of the donation will support the Madge Youtz Branch's "Borrow a Laptop" program. Begun in 2008 with 10 small laptops, the program was initially funded by Connect Ohio and Connected Nation. This program supplies small, sturdy laptop computers for use in the branch and for loan. Some of the computers now require replacement and the Foundation will support continuation of the program...
